45: Flirting

Panel 1: In the middle of a diagonal dirt and grass path surrounded by wanting to bloom sunflowers on either side are a peacock named Chives and a snowy owl named Parmesan. The sky is dark green and sunset with pink clouds. Parmesan sees Chives with his feathers fanned out. Parmesan has a red exclamation point above his head and thinks to himself, “Are they flirting with me?”

Panel 2: Parmesan asks, “Hello, um, are you asking me out?”

Panel 3: Chives puts his feathers down and responds, “Hm? Oh…OH. Sorry, I was just stretching.”

Panel 4: Parmesan has an awkward water drop on his head and says, “It’s okay. I’m not great at reading signals.”
Chives replies, “I’m not either actually. Sorry for sending a mixed message.” Despite the awkwardness, both birds are content.
